Mary Rose – Blue Matcha Alternative – powdered banana in the colour of a clear blue sky
Some colours calm you with a single glance. The deep blue of a summer sky, the still surface of water at dawn… Mary Rose – Blue Matcha Alternative – Banana, which is powdered banana with blue spirulina for preparing matcha-style drinks, captures this shade in a fine, velvety powder. Although the name includes the word "matcha", you won't find green tea leaves here. At the heart of the composition is freeze-dried banana, which makes up over 90% of the ingredients, while the extraordinary sky-blue colour comes from blue spirulina extract.
When combined with milk or a plant-based drink, the powder creates a creamy, gentle drink with the naturally sweet taste of ripe banana. The composition contains no added sugars or flavourings – its sweetness comes solely from the sugars naturally present in the fruit. It is also caffeine-free, so you can reach for it in the evening too, as the day slowly draws to a close.
Blue Matcha Alternative is more than just a base for a blue latte. You can stir it into your morning porridge, yoghurt, a smoothie or a cream for no-bake desserts, giving your everyday meals a touch of fairy-tale, sky-blue aura.
The blue of calm and the sweetness of abundance – the symbolism of blue matcha with banana
In colour symbolism, blue has for centuries been linked with the elements of Water and Air, with silence, trust and sincerity. In the chakra tradition, it corresponds to the Throat Chakra – Vishuddha, associated with communication, truth and the courage to express yourself. A blue drink can therefore be a lovely companion for moments when you want to put your thoughts in order, prepare for an important conversation, or simply slow down and listen to yourself.
Banana, in turn, is regarded in many cultures as a symbol of abundance, fertility and prosperity. In India, the banana plant has long been present in rites and ceremonies, and its fruit is offered as a sign of gratitude. You can treat the combination of blue and banana sweetness as an invitation to a ritual in which calm meets a sense of abundance. As you prepare the drink, focus on an intention – for example, an honest conversation, harmony, or gratitude for what you already have.
How to create a drink based on Mary Rose Blue Matcha Alternative?
Preparing the blue drink resembles mixing classic matcha – it takes just a few calm movements of the hand. Treat it as a short moment of mindfulness, in which all your attention is focused on the colour, the scent and the rhythm of the whisk.
- Put 2 small teaspoons of the powder (approx. 5.6g) into a ceramic bowl or your favourite mug.
- Add 100ml of cold or warm milk or a plant-based drink.
- Mix everything with a bamboo chasen whisk or a frother until the drink is smooth and a delicate foam appears on the surface. Sediment at the bottom is a natural phenomenon.
If you would like a more comforting version, add more frothed milk and create a creamy, sky-blue latte. Just remember not to pour boiling water over the powder – the blue colouring from spirulina is sensitive to high temperatures, and in a warm, not hot, drink it will keep its most beautiful shade.
